Social marketing at its best
I saw a poster at the subway today for a new Oxygen show called Street art showdown. It looks like a reality tv show about street artists.
Immediately I wanted to see how I could get Public Art recognized on the show. I would love to have the app purchased by the program and adopted to fit their agenda. That would be a absolute win.
I noticed they have a website with various social media service integration. Most interesting to me was the Twitter feed that streams the #streetartshowdown hashtag.
I went to my @publicartio bot and added the prefix to all posts. Given the frequency of the bots posting, I expect that new users will discover the big through the Twitter feed.
Let’s see how it works.

two and a half years ago…
Two and a half years ago, I was living in Shanghai and actively participating in the tech startup scene. I helped organize Barcamps, weekly meetups, and worked in a startup.
Before leaving China, I organized a social enterprise hackathon called Hack-yizu. Two and a half years later, the event has become an annual activity.
It’s awesome to see what you make take a life of its own.
